You can never go home again- one of the negatives of becoming an entrepreneur

Business Week (April 16, 2001) recently reported on a test of the employability of two entrepreneurs- Bill Gates and Larry Ellison (of Microsoft and Oracle fame). Home page created resumés for 'Gilliam Bates' and 'Ellis Lawrence'.

Both bogus resumés were posted on Monster.com. In over one month, neither of these two super rich entrepreneurs got an offer of employment or even an interview.

Both are, of course, college drop outs but surely their experience and success should count for something.

Lessons are: a) finish your education and b) once an entrepreneur, always an entrepreneur.
